I asked at banding day this morning, and that egg was likely crushed and the contents were most likely eaten. Gross I know to us humans, but it's a survival instinct. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission representative said did look for the extra egg, but it wasn't there. The Nebraska State Capitol also has falcons, and they had three hatch out of four eggs this year.

I agree but am so glad to see 4 chicks and to see Hera healthy.
What happens to the egg if it doesn't hatch?
