The final falcon chick continues to remain at the nest and move along the ledge throughout the day. This is probably the youngest of the four chicks and will soon follow in the footsteps of his siblings.

Introducing Dakota, Ponca, Kiowa and Oto
The falcons have names. Please welcome Ponca, Oto, Kiowa and Dakota. The young peregrine falcons were named in honor of four of the many Native American tribes located in the plains area. These are the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th falcons born to Zeus and Hera since 2006.

Practice makes perfect
Leap frogging over the nest seems to be the exercise of the morning! The chick shown spreads her wings and jumps to the other side of the nest. Is she restless or practicing moving her wings?

A room with a view
The chicks are working to master walking up and down the ledge. Now they watch as Zeus and Hera fly by showing them what's yet to come! All while enjoying a view of the downtown Omaha area that most only dream of.

Both parents are out on the ledge trying to convince the lil' ones to leave the box.
But it doesn't look like they're going for it.

It's Banding Day!
The 28th floor of the Woodmen Tower was a-squawking this morning - it's banding day!
Banding day is always one of the best days of the year here at Woodmen of the World. To see these chicks hatch and grow so quickly is an emotional experience for a lot of us.
But enough about us, what about these falcons?!
We're proud to announce that we have two healthy boys and two healthy girls this year! And they are a feisty bunch. Zeus and Hera were not happy to have their babies gone from the nest - they dove around the window as the representatives from Raptor Recovery Nebraska and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission gently removed them and put them back after banding.
