Let's hope so. Last year Hera had laid her first of five eggs by April 4. This will be their sixth season together and we're looking forward to many healthy chicks. Keep watching.
No sign of Hera this morning, but Zeus is hanging out in the snowy North nest with the remnants of yesterdays breakfast behind him. We're beginning to wonder if we'll see any eggs this year.
I've been noticing lately that in the mornings there has been food offerings in the north box. It makes me wonder if Zeus is trying to get Hera to sit and therefore nest in this box. I hope she's not taking the season off.
The falcons are staying close to the nests these days.
The falcons in two other cities have already produced some eggs! The PA FalconCam shows 2 eggs as of March 14 and the San Jose camera shows 4 eggs as of March 4. We are looking forward to seeing the eggs of the Woodmen Tower Falcons!
We're about a month away from egg laying time and the anticipation is growing! Zeus is hanging out on the north nest, but the east nest is looking very tidy. I think maybe someone is going through a nesting phase.
